Veteran character actor Eli Wallach, who starred in countless movies and television shows (actually I suppose you could count them, I just didn’t), and won a Tony Award and honorary Academy Award, has passed away at the age of 98. He was perhaps most notably known for his roles as Tuco in ‘The Good, The Bad and The Ugly’ and Calvera in ‘The Magnificent Seven’, back in the golden age of Hollywood when Jews from Brooklyn were cast as Mexicans for some reason. If only there was some way to find a Mexican in Southern California so that Hollywood could cast them!
No other details of his death were immediately available, but it’s suspected that the cause was him being 98 and not some dark immortal.
