And now for a James Franco movie that isn’t The Interview. True Story, from director Rupert Goold, premieres at Sundance and stars Jonah Hill as disgraced New York Times columnist Michael Finkel, who finds out that a murderer named Christian Long (James Franco) has been using Finkel’s name as an alias while on the run. It’s based on Finkel’s memoir, wherein an admitted fabricator is tapped to tell the true story of a convicted murderer, in “True Story.”
Get it? I think it’s clean and rad and powerful.
