Last year’s Black List featured an unused script entitled, Rodham, which is about the younger years of Hillary Clinton and not, as it turns out, a powerful-yet-delicious rod made of ham that was handed down from the gods to a mortal man in order to save mankind. Rodham specifically focuses on Hilldawg’s early career as a lawyer in Washington D.C. as she was the killer package of beauty and brains, assets that were so powerful they were able to capture the heart of of eternal poonhound William Jefferson Clinton (for at least a few years).
Now that James Ponsoldt (Smashed, The Spectacular Now) is attached to direct Rodham, which was written by Young Il-Kim (sadly not a rapper), the hopes are high for an A-list actress. Rumored to be up for the role of the iconic American woman are Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Chastain and Amanda Seyfried.
Rodham director James Ponsoldt said: “They’re all wonderful actresses. We’re very fortunate that a lot of really great actors are interested in playing these roles. We’re in an enviable position.”
“Regardless of people’s political affiliation or how they feel about Hillary Clinton, you don’t find people who question the quality of her intelligence or her drive. I want a wonderful actress who could embody that.” (Via The Independent)
There’s also supposedly a juicy sex scene buried in Il-Kim’s script, although the scribe claims that he “didn’t write 50 Shades of Rodham” because he’s a “boring prude with little imagination”. I’d think that such a scene might hurt Hillary if the film really does coincide with her rumored presidential run in 2016, but then again it might actually invigorate some male voters if she’s played by someone like Johansson or Seyfried.
Hell, check out Bill’s reaction when he simply heard the rumor…
