The news is this: it looks like the Batman/Superman movie will be shot by cinematographer Larry Fong, rather than Man of Steel cinematographer Amir Mokri. I thought Man of Steel (our review) looked mostly great, other than the overlong, over-shaky fight scene towards the end. But since Fong shot 300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch, and Super 8, and Mokri is more known for shooting Transformers 2 movies, the hope is that Superman vs. Batman will be less shaky-cammy than Man of Steel was. Maybe? Dream small, I always say.
From ComingSoon:
Though Warner Bros. has not issued a formal announcement on the matter, cinematographer Larry Fong’s resume at Worldwide Production Agency has been updated to include his involvement in the upcoming Superman/Batman movie with director Zack Snyder.
The new film is being scripted by David S. Goyer from a story he co-created with Snyder. Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman in the film along with Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will also reprise their roles in the sequel. It is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2015 with production expected to begin in February of 2014 in Detroit.
Can you believe that all came from an updated resume on an agency site? The NSA’s got nothing on comic book fans.
