Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant have made cushy livings for themselves in their post-The State days as the co-writers of such classic comedies as Taxi, The Pacifier, Herbie Fully Loaded, Let’s Go to Prison and Night at the Museum. Haha, did I say classic comedies? I mean films that exist. And while we’re all waiting on the edge of our seats, I’m sure, for their next big project, Baywatch, we’ll get to see in the meantime if they can help reverse the course of the sinking ship that is spoof comedies.
In Hell Baby, Rob Corddry and Leslie Bibb move into a haunted “House of Blood” that has the couple dealing with a series of supernatural events after the pregnant Bibb becomes possessed by Satan. Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer, Michael Ian Black, Keegan Michael Key and Garant and Lennon swing by the house to take turns trying to stop the birth of Hell Baby, and we’re left to pray that it’s at least better than Scary Movie V or A Haunted House.
