If you’ve ever wondered whether Family Guy-style writing could be applied to live action, wonder no more with Seth MacFarlane’s comedy western, A Million Ways To Die In The West, directed by MacFarlane, written by MacFarlane and Alec Sulkin. You know it’s Seth MacFarlane, because it’s got Ted jacking off during the title card (I’m not kidding). Does Seth MacFarlane ever do anything that he doesn’t self-plagiarize 1200 times? I mean, I guess it’s better he did this than Ted 2 (note: he’s still doing a Ted 2). Anyway, MacFarlane also stars this time, like with his real face and everything, along with Liam Neeson, Charlize Theron, Giovanni Ribisi, Neil Patrick Harris, and Amanda Seyfried. Like everything Seth MacFarlane does, it’s almost an even mix of legitimate chuckles and gags so painfully unfunny I want to smash my dick with a hammer.
Opens May 30th.
