James Gunn Offers Another Update On ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’

James Gunn told his Facebook fans when he finished the first draft of the script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which opens May 5, 2017. Now Gunn has returned to Facebook to field some questions and upload the title page of the draft he’s sending to the actors, well in time for the production start next month:

Gunn said he’s sending the script to Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, and Vin Diesel. And now we can’t stop picturing Vin Diesel flipping through the script and highlighting all of his lines so he doesn’t forget them. Just a mental picture of Vin Diesel running a squeaky yellow highlighter across the words “I am Groot” over and over again.

Gunn added that the script is also being sent to Bradley Cooper and Karen Gillan, but they weren’t tagged in his Facebook post because they don’t have public profiles. There are at least a couple more actors who may receive a script: Kurt Russell is up for the role of Star-Lord’s dad, and Pom Klementieff is rumored to play Mantis.

Now we’ll just have to see if Bradley Cooper accidentally tells people incorrect spoilers from the new script. You can’t unwash that cotton candy.
