If your heart was warmed by Candace Payne’s hilarious, mega-viral video of becoming “the happiest Chewbacca,” then Kohl’s showering the Payne family with Star Wars gear should take that warmed heart and melt it like Anakin Skywalker’s body after giving up the high ground. In Payne’s infectious video, she states that she would share her new Chewbacca mask with her kids, but it was her birthday and that mask was undeniably hers. The video led to the mask selling out everywhere, and it’s all thanks to the funniest mom on the internet. So, Kohls stepped up and made sure Payne wouldn’t wear out her mask by lending it to her kids, and gave the whole Payne family the masks, in addition to a plethora of Star Wars merchandise.
“We don’t want you to have to share your Chewbacca mask, so we ‘confinsctated’ masks for everybody. We want to thank you for being a loyal Kohl’s shopper,” he told her. “We can’t tell you how much we appreciate that.”
The insanely viral video is now the most-watched Facebook live post of all time, with 112 million views and counting. Kohls’ good-natured belated birthday gifts to Payne have already reached 13 million views, and everyone is happy. Especially Chewbacca.
Now is the time to get her in Episode VIII or IX, right Rian Johnson? Or maybe get her in some of the Rogue Squadron era prequels. Maybe the Han Solo standalone films as Chewbacca’s mom or something. This woman deserves the world. The universe. The galaxy far, far away.
