NBC Is Conjuring A Pilot For The ‘Constantine’ TV Show

Shortly after Fox announced Batman-based TV show Gotham would be going to series, another DC Comics property was also given the green light. NBC just ordered a pilot for Warner Brother’s adaptation of Constantine. The contract also stipulates NBC has to air the pilot or pay a penalty. Leave it to Constantine to have a burdensome contract.

Last time we summarized the franchise, we said it was, “based on the cynical British con-man and magician turned supernatural detective John Constantine, not to be confused with the Keanu Reeves portrayed by Keanu Reeves in 2005’s Constantine.” The pilot script is being handled by The Mentalist producer Daniel Cerone and David Goyer (Batman trilogy and Man Of Steel co-writer).

I’m not entirely psyched about that writing team, but it’s John Constantine. There’s a wealth of material here to keep them from The Cape-ing this thing. #SixSeasonsAndAMovie
