Here’s Where You Can See Daniel Craig’s Cameo In ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

Yes, this is always the most relevant banner picture.

Back in May, Simon Pegg was talking about his own cameo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens when he let it slip that Daniel Craig also has a cameo as a (spoiler) Stormtrooper. A couple of months later, Craig denied his cameo in a swearword-laden, lady-doth-protest-too-much sort of way. Of course, as expected, he was joking, because Craig likes to mess with the press.

Now that the film is in theaters (FINALLY!), we can reveal where you’ll see his cameo in Force Awakens. This could be considered a spoiler, because it involves another character and a scene that strikes some great nostalgic notes for the fans.

Continue reading for a description of the scene he’s in. This is your final spoiler warning, and to help shield your eyes from the spoiler below, here is a completely necessary picture of Daniel Craig’s ’90s hair.

And we’re back.

In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there’s a scene in which Rey (Daisy Ridley) has been captured by the First Order. At this point, she already knows she’s sensitive to the force, but hasn’t tried to use it yet. She attempts her first Jedi mind trick — echoing Obi-Wan Kenobi’s “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for” scene — by telling a Stormtrooper, “You will remove these restraints and leave this cell with the door open.”

The Stormtrooper is played by Daniel Craig, and Entertainment Weekly explains what happens next:

“I’ll tighten those restraints, scavenger scum,” Craig’s character responds, although few in the audience can be expected to register that it’s him. We only hear the actor’s clipped British diction and never see his face.

EW says an insider told them Craig did the cameo “for sh*ts and grins.” One thing is for certain, it would have been easier to spot his cameo if someone had asked, “Aren’t you a little broodingly sexy for a Stormtrooper?”
