“Nas Album Done” is one of the standout joints on Major Key an album full of dope music. As such, it deserves a video and finally, Nas and DJ Khaled are ready to deliver.
In the almost nine minute presentation directed by Eif Riviera, the We The Best DJ and his Bevel-endorsing counterpart take their act to tropical lands of the Bahamas in one colorful clip. Functioning as a bit of a Belly reunion, minus Tommy, the video also stars the movie character “Ox,” dancehall artist Louie Rankin, who greets Khaled and joins him in the mission to spread the keys to “the yout dem.” Yes, Khaled’s speaking patois. He’s also seen getting his groove on with the locals and barefoot, riding a horse in the ocean as well because nothing is too over the top in his world.
But really, he’s doing what he does best: play the best supporting cast member to his invited guest. Nasir is his usual cucumber cool as he spits the verses from one of Major Key‘s best tracks. Considering how good the two worked together, would it not be a good idea for Nas to let Khaled play some sort of executive producer role for whatever album he’s working on? That would be a major key indeed.
