Chefs In South Korea Are Lighting Pizza Balls On Fire And We Want One

We’ve seen some amazing things with pizza. It’s been a point of political discussion, We’ve seen it delivered by a robot, hell, it’s even been stuffed with pizza and covered in other pizzas. Yeah, it’s been through the ringer. I’m sure we’ve all tried every topping we could imagine and still never tire of the stuff. But we haven’t seen it all. South Korean recently stepped into the ring of fire –– pun-intended –– and started a whole new pizza craze.

Waiters bring out a giant ashy looking balloon, douse it in oil and set that puppy ablaze. “The Bomb,” as it’s been dubbed, is a ball of dough filled with sauce, cheese, and toppings, and lit on fire to cook them all right in front you:

Once everything cooks off and you can presumably smell fresh-baked wonder, the server grabs some Super Shears and tears away at the top crust. Slowly revealing what looks like a pretty runny, melted-ish, decent looking, edible, pizza.

Now, South Korea is no stranger to tweaks on the old classic and interesting toppings (read: snails, cheesecake, figs, and cream cheese), but this is a whole new ball game.
