In another bit of news that confirms there is no God, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have announced their decision to divorce. The couple — who officially tied the knot almost exactly a decade ago — released an official statement confirming the split:
“After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”
Rumors their relationship was on the rocks began surfacing in recent weeks due to Affleck’s drive to constantly be working while leaving Garner at home to care for their three children.
Affleck first met Garner on the set of 2003’s Daredevil. After his highly publicized relationship with Jennifer Lopez ended a year later, the two began dating and later tied the knot on June 29, 2005.
