After Sons of Anarchy completed its run, star Charlie Hunnam made it clear that he was ready to make the transition from television to film. After the kaiju bashing Pacific Rim was a hit, he decided to continue his working relationship with Guillermo del Toro with Crimson Peak and Pacific Rim 2, proving that he’s making some good career decisions (and successfully avoiding the rancid 50 Shades franchise).

Ritchie’s vision doesn’t seem too in line with the traditional myth, putting his own spin on the tale. In the interview, Hunnam describes him as a bit more rough and tumble than the Pendragons that have come before:
“He’s a little bit rough around the edges, but he’s basically a survivor. He’s a hustler,” Hunnam says. “He’s a street kid. There’s definitely a harder edge to him than people would imagine. It’s sort of classic Guy Ritchie stuff.”
Time will tell whether this film will be better than 2004’s King Arthur (great cast, dreadful script). Sure, this Arthur looks like he shops at Urban Outfitters and is pretty casual with that sword, but it could be Guy Ritchie’s return to his gritty and sharp roots.
