The diverse and exciting cast of Star Trek Beyond continues to grow! Fast and Furious 6 star and martial artist Joe Taslim was just announced, according to the Hollywood Reporter, as part of the cast of the third installment of the rebooted franchise, which is already in production. The Indonesian actor is said to be playing a role opposite that of Idris Elba, whom we know is playing a bad guy (perhaps a breakdancing bad guy). Villainy won’t be new territory for the Indonesian actor who played a bad guy in Fast and Furious 6, but specific details haven’t been provided about his Star Trek character.
With his martial arts skills, it’s impossible to think that Taslim won’t be kicking someone’s intergalactic ass. The question is, whose ass? We’ll find out when Star Trek Beyond comes out in 2016!
