A Gunman Opened Fire At A Lafayette, Louisiana Screening Of ‘Trainwreck,’ Leaving 3 Dead & 7 Injured

In Lafayatte, Louisiana, a movie theater shooting leaves three people dead and at least seven injured. CNN reports the shooter as a 58-year-old white male, who acted alone. Around 100 people were present inside a screening of the Judd Apatow-directed Trainwreck at the Grand Theater 16 when the gunman opened fire. One of the deceased includes the shooter, who turned the gun upon himself before the police department arrived on the scene.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal took to Twitter en route to the scene:

Daily Intel spoke to a witness, Katie Dominigue, who says the shooter stood up about 20 minutes into the movie and simply opened fire into the rows below: “He wasn’t saying anything. I didn’t hear anybody screaming either.”

Deadline notes how this shooting arrives almost exactly three years after the mass theater shooting that took place during an Aurora, CO screening of The Dark Knight Rises (which left 12 people dead and 70 injured).

Finally, Trainwreck star (and writer) Amy Schumer tweeted the following in the wake of the incident…
