In the Back to the Future series, one of the many wild predictions included the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series on October 21, 2015. Back to the Future Day has been a whirlwind extravaganza. Even Huey Lewis and Bernie Sanders enjoyed the momentous holiday, but the movie’s effect on baseball could eclipse all other associated awesomeness.
On Wednesday evening, the Cubs are playing the Mets for a chance at winning the National League. If the Cubs seize victory, they could proceed to the Series and possibly end the Curse of the Billy Goat. This is a long shot since the Cubs haven’t won the World Series since 1908 — possibly due to the aforementioned curse involving one smelly pet — but this outlandish foretelling has a shot of coming true. Stranger things have happened, including an entire holiday revolving around a trilogy of sci-fi movies.
Watch this video to learn all about how this prediction may be the truest (albeit the craziest) one of the film. Although unfortunately, if the Cubs lose this game, their season will be over. In that case, Nike’s planned self-tying shoes would take over as the most accurate foretelling of the beloved movies starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd.
