Mere hours after the TMZ-shattering news that Angelina Jolie is divorcing Brad Pitt, Paramount Pictures released the trailer for Allied, the Mr. and Mrs. Smith of the 2010s. According to Page Six, it was on the set of the romance-thriller that Pitt allegedly first started “cozying up” to Marion Cotillard. “[Jolie] hired a private eye because she felt that he was fooling around with her on the set, and it turns out, he was,” a source said. “And that was the final straw.”
Everyone involved denies the report, but Paramount struck while the iron is hot, anyway. The Robert Zemeckis-directed Allied is about a pair of World War II assassins, U.S. intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt) and French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard), who fall in love. But their relationship — which, based on the trailer, looks like it mostly involves gunning down Nazis — is “threatened by the extreme pressures of the war,” according to the official plot description, although war’s got nothing on Angelina Jolie.
After 12 years together, Jolie filed for divorce on Sept. 15 and she’s reportedly asking for custody of their six kids: Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt, 15, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, 12, Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, 11, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, 10, and twins Knox Léon Jolie-Pitt, and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, 8.
Allied comes out on Nov. 23, 2016. Jennifer Aniston will be first in line.
