After Pitch Perfect 2 opened strong at the box office last month, another sequel was put into play by Universal Pictures. With a release date now in place for Friday, July 21, 2017, the Hollywood Reporter says Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson have signed on to reprise their roles in Pitch Perfect 3.
Kay Cannon — the writer behind the first two films in the series — is currently in talks to pen the third film. Elizabeth Banks directed Pitch Perfect 2, which has brought in $259.7 million worldwide so far. While it’s still way early in this whole process, there’s currently no word if Banks will be returning to helm the next outing for the Bellas.
