Leading up to and after the release of Spectre, Daniel Craig made some noise about being all set with playing James Bond. Not too long afterward, his pal, actor Mark Strong, pretty much confirmed it.
“Do you know what, I’d have loved to have played the villain in a Bond movie while Daniel was doing it because he’s a pal and that would have been great. But I think he’s come to the end of his Bond time and so it’s probably never going to happen, but that would have always been great.”
So, if Strong knows of what he speaks, who should be the next Bond? Idris Elba sounds like a perfect choice regardless of the idiotic commentary about his candidacy from Bond creator Ian Fleming’s estate. Michael Fassbender can both carry a franchise and is a multiple Oscar nominee. Tom Hardy headlined a franchise flick with Mad Max: Fury Road and just showed his capability for suaveness in Inception. And Chiwetel Ejiofor, an Oscar nominee himself, is as talented and versatile an actor as there is in movies today.
Or, if the producers really want to get nuts, how about Emily Blunt? She’s proven her action chops as a total badass in both Edge of Tomorrow and Sicario. She’s British. So why not?
Whoever takes over the role, there are plenty of potentially excellent picks from which to choose. Check out the video above and choose for yourself!
