Bill Nunn, Best Known For His Role Of Radio Raheem In ‘Do The Right Thing,’ Has Died At Age 62

Actor Bill Nunn has passed away at age 62.

Best known for his incredible work in the role of Radio Raheem in the Spike Lee classic Do The Right Thing, Nunn’s career featured a diverse assortment of roles that ranged from New Jack City to Canadian Bacon to Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. He also was recognizable on the small screen thanks to gigs like the USA series Sirens.

Spike Lee, who directed Nunn in a number of his motion pictures, shared the news of the actor’s death on Instagram.

“My Dear Friend, My Dear Morehouse Brother- Da Great Actor Bill Nunn As Most Of You Know Him As Radio Raheem Passed Away This Morning In His Hometown Of Pittsburgh,” wrote Lee in response to Nunn’s passing. “Long Live Bill NUNN. RADIO RAHEEM Is Now RESTING IN POWER. RADIO RAHEEM WILL ALWAYS BE FIGHTING DA POWERS DAT BE. MAY GOD WATCH OVER BILL NUNN.”

Understandably, Lee has been far from the only person to express their feelings over this loss.
