Almost five years ago, Vince jokingly wrote of Michael Brenner’s real-life romance novel, Wet Goddess: Recollections Of A Dolphin Lover, “Option this now.” At least I think he was joking, but that’s neither here nor there, because the 63-year old Brenner is finally telling his unique story in a documentary entitled, Dolphin Lover. Oh, I should probably specify what Brenner’s story is. He claims that in 1971 he met a female dolphin named Dolly and she seduced him, and while he didn’t want to give in to the dolphin’s sexual advances, he simply couldn’t resist.
“At first I discouraged her, I wasn’t interested,” Brenner says in the movie. “After some time I thought, ‘If this was a woman would I come up with these rationalizations and excuses?’ ” (Via the NY Post)
While Brenner presumably doesn’t have the cash to pay for a proper Super Bowl ad, the trailer for Dolphin Lover is here for all of us to watch with absolutely no judgment at all. Side note: can you guess which state Brenner’s sordid summer love affair happened in? I bet you can get it on your first try.
