Now that Ghostbusters is officially shooting, we can also officially start guessing who might be showing up in a cameo appearance. (::coughcough::BillMurray::coughcough::) Today, however, one of the true OG Ghostbusters confirmed that he was going to be part of the new movie.
Dan Aykroyd, the heart of the Ghostbusters himself, posted on his Facebook page that he had been on the movie’s Boston set filming his cameo. It appears that the post might have been removed — maybe because it was supposed to be a secret. But the cat’s out of the bag! Or, the ghost’s out of the trap! Because here’s what Aykroyd said:

Lady GB’S are adorable, hilarious and badass
Exhilarating! #ghostbusters
Something like this gets some of us die-hard fans right in the heartstrings, especially since Aykroyd, who was really behind the creation of Ghostbusters with the late Harold Ramis, gave his blessing when the cast was announced. So I’m just going to sit back, maybe wipe a tear from my eye, and enjoy this fleeting moment of solidarity before the Internet expresses its discontent.
