Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine in the standalone Deadpool film, and he gets to shoot it in his hometown of Vancouver. That’s actually pretty awesome news for him, because his family still lives there and he’ll no doubt be bringing his new wife and baby with him.
The production has booked two months at North Shore Studios, starting in late March. The X-Men franchise sure likes Canada, as X-Men: Apocalypse is shooting in Montreal later this summer, the same place where Days of Future Past was filmed.
According to past reports, the film’s story has nothing to do with that first Wolverine movie that no one should ever really talk about ever, anyway. It will be directed by Tim Miller, who has not directed a feature film before but will probably do an awesome job because if not, he’ll probably have to go in to hiding.
