At the risk of pulling back the curtain a bit too far, this UPROXX goon doesn’t really understand how the Star Wars franchise sorts out their in-universe pop charts. Like, do Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes have a #1 hit on their hands with “Cantina Song” or is that just a little known original? Also, how would this Bad Lip Reading interpretation of The Empire Strikes Back do on the space charts? The non-space public DEMANDS answers!
The video we have nestled above is the latest BLR take on Episode V of the Star Wars saga, building on the previous work the video vendor cranked out last December. This particular entry features Yoda singing about being terrorized by seagulls while Luke Skywalker serves as a sometimes reluctant duet partner.
“Everyone told me not to stroll on that beach,” sings/recalls Yoda. “Said seagulls gonna come poke me in the coconut.”
Oh, how they poked him in that poor green coconut. You may be shocked to discover that the whole affair is deliriously silly, but that’s the point, now isn’t it? “Seagulls! (Stop It Now)” is also designed to be get its hooks in your brain, so tread carefully. You will mutter these lyrics when you least suspect it.
