Finding Nemo is one of the most beloved Pixar films of all-time, so the fan reaction to the new trailer for the upcoming sequel, Finding Dory, was quite positive. This year’s Minions is proof that turning a hilarious side character into the main-event doesn’t always lead to creative greatness, but Pixar is coming off the wonderful Inside Out and pleasantly mediocre The Good Dinosaur, so here’s hoping that Dory is more of the former.
Entertainment Weekly is rolling out a ton of new information about 2016’s most anticipated films this week, and gave fans a first look at some adorable new sea creatures, voiced by Modern Family‘s Ty Burrell and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Kaitlin Olson. The hilarious duo will be playing a beluga whale and a whale shark respectively, and the twosome play a key role in helping Dory find her long lost family.
“My character isn’t great at his own sonar capability, and Destiny has trouble swimming straight,” Burrell explains.
“We totally get on each other’s nerves,” Olson reveals. “I like to think I’m a shark, but Bailey calls me a whale, and I make fun of his head, because it’s gigantic.”
These two will probably acquit themselves well to the traditional Pixar wit, but something tells me that Olson will have to rein in her usual It’s Always Sunny schtick.
