Based on early details and a recent trailer for the movie, we know that Finding Dory revolves around the titular Dory trying to find her family and gain some memories back as the adventure unfolds. Specifically, Dory really wants to remember more of her mom because she misses her a ton. So, it’s only appropriate that the movie acknowledges Mother’s Day in one way or another. In a cute video, Pixar wishes everyone a happy Mother’s Day and reminds people of the importance of family.
While it isn’t a glimpse of new footage or involve any additional insight into Marlin, Nemo, and Dory’s adventures in the upcoming sequel, the video is a sweet reminder that even if you don’t remember anything else in your life you will always remember family. Dory will have to remember a lot more people than she usually does(n’t) in the new movie, seeing as a whole new crop of characters will be swimming into action to help her on her mission. No one can replace Bruce the shark in our hearts, but a Beluga Whale/Whale Shark duo voiced by Ty Burrell and Kaitlin Olsen might give him a run for his money. The movie hits theaters on June 17, 2016 so until then remember to just keep swimming … and also to call your mom.
