Here’s Your First Official Image From The ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot

The Ghostbusters reboot has been mired in controversy since it was first announced, with fanboys weeping into their Ecto-Cooler that Paul Feig and Melissa McCarthy were going to ruin their beloved film franchise retroactively. Despite getting the blessingΒ ofΒ multiple original co-stars, people (misogynists) can’t seem to unbunch their panties over an all-female ghost busting team.

Hopefully this first official promotional image for the film puts some of those fears to rest. While there isn’t a ton to go on from a single image, the overall vibe from the crew seems right: confident and a little cocky, but you can bet they sometimes screw up and cross streams. We’ll have to wait and see how things look once the trailer drops, but there doesn’t seem to be anything here that will leave angry “fans” clutching at their pearls and bemoaning their ruined childhoods. Honestly, Kate McKinnon’s hair looks like it will be worth the price of admission alone.

While McCarthy doesn’t have an unblemished track record, her work with Feig has been uniformly good, especially this summer’s delightful Spy. These two have found a comedy magic formula, so here’s hoping they can keep the streak alive.
