It’s been two decades since Friday was released in theaters. In celebration of the film’s anniversary, the director’s cut will see a limited one-day theatrical re-release in roughly 400 theaters on April 20th. Ice Cube spoke with Buzzfeed about the the film’s enduring legacy:
“For the theaters, for New Line [Cinema], for the fans to want to pay homage to the movie in this way is cool,” he said. “It lets you know how much people appreciate it and how much fun it is … and it lets you know that Friday is now a part of the American fabric.”
