There’s a quote that pervades through Blow, the 2001 biopic with a killer soundtrack based on the life of cocaine smuggler George Jung. It goes, “Sometimes you’re flush and sometimes you’re bust, and when you’re up, it’s never as good as it seems, and when you’re down, you never think you’ll be up again, but life goes on.” George Jung is taking that advice, presumably given to him by his father some sixty-plus years ago, and taking it to heart by starring in a new reality show called Poverty Sucks. Yes, poverty does suck. Yes it does.

Since being released from prison in 2014 after serving 20 years of a 60-year sentence, George Jung hasn’t been able to do much to make money. He’s 73-years-old and his entire skill-set is predicated on outdated ways to smuggle vast amounts of cocaine into the country. Naturally, he’s turning towards reality TV to make his next buck and repair his broken relationship with his daughter, which was a big part of Blow. In Poverty Sucks, George will be re-introducing himself into society. Going grocery shopping, banking and just hanging out and reminiscing about his good times with Pablo Escobar. It might be pretty interesting.

TMZ has reported that the pilot has been completed and is being shopped around to various networks. Whether feeling sympathy for a man who ruined countless lives through the drug trade remains to be seen.
