Comic Con attendees expected Warner Brother’s Hall H panel to be absolutely huge, and it did not disappoint. Warner Brothers made it clear that they are ready to shake off the memory of 2011’s lackluster Green Lantern outing and give DC fans something to get truly excited about. Due in 2020, the next Green Lantern film is going to be called Green Lantern Corps.

Official casting has yet to begin, but that title suggests that Hal Jordan will be joined by fellow Lanterns John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, and Sinestro.
According to comic canon, the Green Lantern Corps are intergalactic police that use powerful rings to utilize the power of the green energy from the Central Power Battery. Using that energy, they are able to create anything they can imagine, including high-tech weapons or means of transportation.
This kind of universe expansion really shows that DC is working hard to challenge Marvel’s world building technique and really throws down the gauntlet. Either way, comic book film fans win.
