Reminder: One of the most anticipated movies in recent memory is promising a wisecracking racoon negotiating with baby Groot over whether or not to push a death-beaconing button. It’s ridiculous and awesome and we’re thrilled to experience it.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 debuted a new teaser trailer today that confirms once again that 2017 can’t come soon enough. Everything on display in this early look confirms that the franchise isn’t shying away from its goofy charm, plus there’s explosions and music your dad likes and all sorts of other silly neat things. Also, Pom Klementieff‘s Mantis appears in this tease and she seems like a welcome fit in the cinematic take on comic book series.
The film won’t arrive in theaters until May 5, 2017, y’know, because time is cruel and all that, but there’s all sorts of laughs and gasps that should be waiting when the finish line arrives. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn and Glenn Close all return in the upcoming motion picture with James Gunn serving as writer/director. We look forward to hearing what’s on Peter Quill’s Awesome Mix Vol. 2 and calling our dads whenever we see Kurt Russell.
