Production on the much-speculated-about Han Solo anthology film could kick off soon if a new tweet from the movie’s director Christopher Miller is any indication. In celebration of Star Wars Day, Miller posted a new teaser image featuring the most infamous blaster in the galaxy.
Can't wait to get "shooting"!#MayThe4thBeWithYou pic.twitter.com/HlteYut6m0

Along with the image, Miller included the message “Can’t wait to get ‘shooting!’” Not a bad pun, and it may indicate that the Han Solo movie is set to start filming soon. The movie is scheduled for a May 2018 release, and Star Wars: Episode VIII, which comes out only five months earlier on December 15, 2017, is already over half-way through production. The timeline would make sense.
Of course, we still don’t know a heck of a lot about the Han Solo movie, other than it will show how Han and Chewie became the scruffy smuggling duo we know and love. We don’t even know who’s going to play young Han, although word is it’s down to Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!), Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) and Emory Cohen (Brooklyn).
You can’t start filming a Han Solo movie without your new Han Solo, so expect a lot of answers about this movie to start coming in over the coming weeks and months. Until then, sit tight, nerf herders.
