Quentin Tarantino likes placing colorful characters inside his enriched sandboxes and watching them play; The Hateful Eight is no different. The film chronicles a set of eight characters — played by Bruce Dern, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth, and Walton Goggins — as they find themselves trapped in a snowy Wyoming haberdashery as a winter storm passes by.
Each character has their own motives and backstories, and now a new series of posters are introducing these players. In the first poster, an Entertainment Weekly exclusive, we meet Kurt Russell as “The Hangman” John Ruth, and his prisoner Daisy Domergue, played by Leigh. Russell is rocking a luxurious walrus-like ‘stache, while Leigh’s character is highlighted by a shiner under her left eye. We previously got a look at these characters in EW’s cover story on Tarantino’s eighth film.
The Hateful Eight is due out this Christmas with an original score by spaghetti-western maestro Ennio Morricone.
