As we’ve heard in just about every modern iteration of Spider-Man, with great power comes great responsibility. That line will probably haunt moviegoers in the next five or six reboots of the Spider-Man franchise, but it has truth to it. For Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn it especially rings true, because fans just get so excited and pore over every bit of news that spills out that a lot of questions either go unanswered, misinterpreted or are just asked of him ad nauseam.
This led Gunn to take to Facebook to post “really frequently asked questions” about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
And wow is there a lot of stuff in there. Of course, it is all done in typical James Gunn style of being kind of angry, but not really that angry and still sort of fun. You know, like his movies. A lot of it is stuff that we already know, like Vin Diesel reprising his role as Groot as, well, Baby Groot, but my god does he really throw a ringer in there about Baby Groot.
– Is baby Groot the same as Groot, or Groot’s son?
It’s complicated.
– Does he have Groot’s memories?
No.
Ouch. If that’s not an awkward kick in the pants for Guardians of the Galaxy fans, what isn’t? There’s a ton of stuff in there, like how Thanos isn’t a part of the movie and how it’s allowed to veer away from the whole MCU continuity. Really, it’s worth at least a scan, if not a thorough investigation.
