The Joker and Harley Quinn had quite the unique relationship in Suicide Squad, but if you thought that was something, you ain’t seen nothing yet. The Nerdy Hero YouTube channel has treated us to the Joker-Harley 50 Shades of Gray mash-up trailer we never knew we desperately wanted until now, and it’s got us wishing this was real life. The Fifty Shades of Joker clip is everything you would expect from a Fifty trailer, just with the Joker instead. So pretty much the same, only not at all.
Recently, we got our first look at the trailer for Fifty Shades Darker, now we are getting another Fifty-themed sneak peek, only this time a little different. The BDSM film trailer gives us a faux-glimpse into a maybe not real but could-be-one-day film that could feature some hot-and-heavy Joker on Harley action.
If this fake trailer/mash-up has you craving some Joker-Harley screen time, you’re probably going to be pretty upset to find out much of the duo’s time together in Suicide Squad was left on the cutting room floor. Jared Leto recently told Entertainment Weekly the reasoning behind the deletion of the scenes and the unfortunate way they might one day seen them.
“If I were to die tomorrow, maybe the studio would roll something out. Rated R or rated X performance in there somewhere,” Jared Leto had teased. Margot Robbie later theorized, “They probably realized that the emotional through-line of the story had to be the mission that we were on.”
While we might dig a Joker-Harley love story, it certainly doesn’t appear to be coming anytime soon. Unless Hollywood gets ahold of this trailer and decides it’s a good idea, which might not be the most outrageous thing that’s even happened.
