Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet have been very close friends for nearly 20 years, ever since making everyone’s hearts go on in Titanic in 1997. Ever since then, they have been each other’s most outspoken supporters, and every time they reunite at awards shows, the world draws a dreamy sigh over their beautiful friendship. Despite all of the controversy around the Oscars this year, Winslet said publicly that she would not be boycotting the event, because she was certain that this year was Leo’s year to finally get that damn gold statue, telling Vanity Fair:
“I feel very strongly that it may possibly be Leo’s year. He is my closest friend in the world and I just couldn’t imagine not being there to support him.”
Well, it turns out that Winslet was correct, it was Leo’s year. While he was collecting the award that he fought that bear for, Winslet could be seen beaming from the crowd at her dear friend.

Winslet may have lost out herself to The Danish Girl‘s Alicia Vikander for Best Supporting Actress, but the seven-time nominee/one-time winner will likely have her shot again. In the meantime, she’s probably just glad that Leo will stop hanging around her bathroom, practicing his speech with her Oscar.
