Warning: The post contains spoilers for Kingsman: The Secret Service, and I suppose Kingsman 2, as well.
Kingsman: The Secret Service was one of the surprise hits of 2014 and so, of course, a sequel is on the way. But that means the producers are going to have to deal with some of the bold choices they made in the original movie. Namely, what do you do about Colin Firth’s Galahad taking a bullet to the face? Back in late 2015, series-creator Mark Millar reportedly had no bloody idea what to do about the situation, but apparently they’ve managed to figure something out.
Yesterday, Kingsman star Taron Egerton tweeted the first teaser poster for Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and, well, it certainly isn’t subtle…

So yes, Galahad is definitely coming back. In some respects, it’s kind of a shame, as it undoes the most impactful part of the original Kingsman, but on the other hand, we now get more Colin Firth genteel badassery. Also, it will certainly be interesting to see how the unhinged Kingsman universe handles this – could we have a cyborg Colin Firth to look forward to? A zombie Firth? Or something even crazier?
In other Kingsman 2 news, word is Pedro Pascal, of Game of Thrones and Narcos fame, will be joining the cast as a character named Jack Daniels. Oh pun names, where would spy movies be without them? He’ll be joined by Julianne Moore and Halle Berry, who are also joining what’s shaping up to be a pretty stellar cast.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is scheduled to hit theaters June 16, 2017.
