There aren’t enough important, meaningful movie sequels in the world, so let’s let Reese Witherspoon’s near-iconic Elle Woods back into our lives, shall we?
The Oscar-winning actress told Fashionably Late host Rachel Zoe, “It would be pretty cool, I think we’re ready to see Elle and see what she’s up to lately,” in an endorsement of a proposed second sequel to the 2001 hit Legally Blonde. So co-stars Luke Wilson and Mary Lynn Rajskub followed that up by heartily endorsing the idea while appearing together on Monday’s The Late Late Show With James Corden.
“It wasn’t as highly thought of as the first one,” said Wilson, Witherspoon’s love interest in the first two films, of Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde and its 38 percent Rotten Tomatoes score. “That’s why we need to do 3, to win everybody back.”
Rajskub, who appeared in part 2, chimed in with an enthusiastic “Let’s do it,” when Wilson asked her if they should “put the band back together.”
Sounds like it’s unanimous. No word yet on who will write the decision or if there are any dissenting opinions.
