The above video rounds up some of the best deleted scenes from Marvel movies, and no, it isn’t just a bunch of deleted scenes from Ghost Rider. We’re sure you’re shocked.
The compilation was edited by Mr. Sunday Movies, who has already been featured here for his videos about things you may have missed in the Captain America: Civil War trailer, Suicide Squad deleted scenes and Easter eggs, and why Deathstroke is a perfect villain for Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie.
The Aussie vlogger highlights deleted scenes from Iron Man, Captain America: Civil War, Guardians Of The Galaxy, The Avengers, The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, and more. The scenes he singled out include an excerpt from this scene between Gamora and Nebula in Guardians Of The Galaxy and the animatic of Captain America And Black Widow facing off in the airport scene in Civil War, which was scrapped because — according to the writers — their tension was already addressed in other scenes and Black Widow needed to fight Hawkeye instead. They didn’t bring up the more obvious reason: Cap kills people.
The video also brings up an interesting point about why part of the Hulk versus Hulkbuster scene was cut (it showed an easy way to incapacitate Hulk which pedantic people would never stop complaining about). There were some noticeable absences from the list, however, like Loki shouting “God bless America” while dressed as Captain America or Deadpool doing some NSFW superhero training of his own. Not sure why that wasn’t considered the best. It was a maximum effort.
