Perhaps no company has been as innovative and ambitious when it comes to film franchises as Marvel with their Marvel Cinematic Universe. The concept being the Marvel Cinematic Universe was to take a few hot film properties and eventually build them all into another, conjoined film series in The Avengers. It all came to a head with this year’s Captain America: Civil War, which takes The Avengers franchise and raises the stakes, by adding even more characters into the mix, like Spider-Man, who will be getting his own set of movies as well.
In the coming months and years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will only continue to grow, expand and elaborate on what they’ve been doing oh-so-well for the past few years. As mentioned previously, Spider-Man will be getting his third franchise reboot, but this time under the umbrella of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Also joining Spidey will be Doctor Strange, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Captain Marvel. Returning to the big screen will be Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume II, Thor back in his own line of films in Thor: Ragnarok, Antman, and Wasp will be teaming up for more bite-sized adventures and Black Panther will be getting his own standalone film.
All of this will be building to the thrilling conclusion to “phase three” of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will be a two-part Avengers: Infinity War where the Avengers will assemble to take on the all-powerful Thanos for the Infinity Gauntlet.
