Fictional alien Scarlett Johansson was the unlucky recipient of actual alien John Travolta’s uncomfortable embrace at the Oscars this past Sunday, with the Battlefield Earth star trying to steal her precious life juices for his long trip back to the Galactic Confederacy. Calling it “strange” would be an understatement, to everyone except ScarJo, that is, who didn’t seem to mind Travolta puckering up to her like a Xenomorph in Alien.
“The image that is circulating is an unfortunate still-frame from a live-action encounter that was very sweet and totally welcome. That still photo does not reflect what preceded and followed if you see the moment live…I haven’t seen John in some years and it is always a pleasure to be greeted by him. (Via)
She added, “There is nothing strange, creepy, or inappropriate about John Travolta,” before withering away like one of Ursula’s poor unfortunate souls. Travolta strikes again.
