Shailene Woodley Is Super Sad In The First Clip From ‘Insurgent’

Tris doesn’t want anyone else to die because of her, according to the first official clip from Insurgent, the second film in the wildly popular Divergent series. The problem with that hope, though, is that she’s the attractive young woman who has been tasked with saving young, attractive humanity from the mean old people like Kate Winslet, so obviously a lot of people are going to die along the way, while she finally understands her full potential of being the all-powerful Divergent person.

Look, I obviously don’t know the difference between this film and any other young adult post-apocalyptic romance series, so let’s allow the Insurgent synopsis to tell us what it’s all about.

INSURGENT raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Woodley) and Four (James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris’s family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them. Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.

Here’s my big question about this scene – do you think the characters are bothered by each other’s breath when they’re that close to each other? I watched Divergent and don’t remember anyone in that movie stopping to brush his or her teeth, so I have to imagine that these two are a little funky. But then, I guess that’s how we know they’re truly in love. Young, attractive future love.
