Spider-Man: Homecoming is filming now, so we’ve been slowly figuring out which characters the actors are playing, with the most recent reveal being that Zendaya Coleman’s character “Michelle” may actually be (spoiler?) Mary Jane Watson, which some people might throw a hissy fit over (but not James Gunn). Michael Keaton’s casting as the Vulture was recently confirmed, but he’s not the only villain (uh oh), because Michael Chernus was recently cast as the Tinkerer. But there’s probably a third villain (uh oh) in the offing, according to a leaked call sheet posted (then deleted) on Twitter.
The call sheet — which may prove to be fake — was for a scene set in Midtown High School, with Spider-Man Tom Holland present alongside classmates played by Zendaya (listed as “Z” with her character referred to as “Michelle”), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Tony Revolori, and Laura Harrier. Two other names on the list are particularly worth noting, however. 15-year-old Angourie Rice is listed as Betty Brandt, who’s still a little too young right now to be Jonah Jameson’s secretary as she eventually became in the comics. Bokeem Woodbine — previously cast as an “unspecified villain” — is now specified: Herman Schultz, also known as The Shocker.
If you’re keeping track, that’s at least three villains, which has worked out so well for Spider-Man movies in the past. *tugs at collar* Oh well, at least one of them is The Shocker. He sure knows how to make an entrance.
Wait, I’m getting him confused with The Shockmaster. Terribly sorry.
