Oscar Isaac has already said that the rumors about the plot of Star Wars: The Force Awakens are false, but that isn’t going to stop us from constant speculation. What else would we do? Cultivate good habits? Not argue about who would win in a fight? Phooey and pshaw. Let’s delve into some potential spoilers instead.
The newest rumors from Making Star Wars contradict an earlier rumor from them. Now they’re saying Domhnall Gleeson’s character is far less important than the giant spoiler they purported it to be from four different unrelated sources, so keep that in mind when reading their newest rumors about the characters played by Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis.
You can read their full speculation over there, but we’re going to focus on the ones about Kylo Ren, who is probably being portrayed by Adam Driver, although Abrams and Co. are being coy about it. Blastr summarized the rumors:
At one point, Kylo shoots down the Millennium Falcon, then boards it with some stormtroopers (emphasizing an imperial connection) after it crashes on a snow planet (presumably the same one from the teaser) and eventually sits in Han’s seat in the cockpit. Jason Ward, Making Star Wars editor-in-chief, puts a real emphasis on this, speculating that it means there’s an emotional connection here, perhaps even a father/son one.
At this point, it seems like every character younger than 40 has been rumored to be the child of Leia and Han or of Luke, although we have heard similar rumors about Driver’s character and Daisy Ridley’s character (Rey) being Han and Leia’s kids. At least nobody we know is speculating any of these characters are Luke and Leia’s kid. We certainly wouldn’t speculate that. Not at all.
Full disclosure, that picture up top isn’t Kylo Ren; he’s this guy:
Yep, that’s definitely the right picture.
