All The ‘Star Wars’ Movies Have A New Broadcast Home So You Can Watch Weekend Marathons All The Time

If you’ve ever wanted to laze away a weekend watching all seven (going on eight, going on nine, and so on forever because Disney will never stop the chain now) Star Wars movies but didn’t have the DVDs or Blu-Rays at home, there’s some good news for you. TNT and TBS have taken over as the broadcast rights holders for the entire series from Spike, a channel most households don’t have, therefore a limited amount of people could enjoy access to all the films all the time.

If we’re lucky, the Turner network will treat these movies no differently than they treat the Lord of the Rings or American Pie series at least 20 weekends a year. As in, play them around the clock for three days straight no matter if people are actually watching them at four in the morning or not. Nothing sounds better than having insomnia, rolling over and turning the TV on, and finding out that a massive Star Wars weekend marathon has just started on one or the other of the channels. According to io9, TNT is granting that exact wish with a marathon of all the prequels and original trilogy films with a September 20th marathon. Check the schedule below to see when you should avoid the screen lest you be suddenly beset by prequel rage.
