The first trailer for Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials has arrived, and, well, it seems like all that maze running business is behind us. Instead, we get a post-apocalyptic wasteland called The Scorch, shadowy secret-filled complexes and Game of Thrones’ Aidan Gillen as yet another slimy manipulator.
Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials actually looks pretty good. Certainly better than your average YA novel adaptation, but I got into The Maze Runner franchise for the mazes, man. If the heroes don’t end up back in a maze by the end of this movie, I will be sorely disappointed.
At least the main guy still gets to squeeze through another tight space in this trailer. That’s something.
Maze Hunter: The Scorch Trials hits theaters this September.
