The Honest Trailer for Entourage is here, and it’s every bit as boozy, bro-y, and obnoxiously misogynistic as expected.
The Entourage movie hits theaters on June 3, but Honest Trailers takes on the original HBO series. Doug Ellin’s fantasy version of Los Angeles is a land of male wish fulfillment where casual racism, sexism, and homophobia is still totally cool. Everyone sleeps around without ever getting herpes, and Jeremy Piven can win a Golden Globe and three Primetime Emmys for lines like, “You fire a guy, and you create a rival. You fire a woman, and you create a housewife.”
The most awkward part of the whole trailer, though, is a terrible joke from Piven’s character Ari Gold about a far superior actor, Peter Dinklage:
“You know The Station Agent?”
“Yeah.”
“It’s about the midget who lives by the train tracks? The last time I saw him, he was in a FedEx commercial. They were overnighting him to London.”
Hey, Ari Gold, Gold, look over here.
The most depressing part is that Piven has three Primetime Emmys for this nonsense, and Dinklage somehow only has one. Emmy voters, take note and remedy this ASAP.
