“I seek righteousness, but I’ll take revenge.” Following up on the first set photos Tuesday night, Sony has also released the first trailer for Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven, a remake of MGM and Columbia’s classic by the same name which was based on Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai. Except this version stars Denzel Washington (The Greatest Actor Of All Time, Period) and Chris Pratt. That’s a remake we can be down with, especially when it reunites the Training Day director with stars Washington and Ethan Hawke, pitting them against an industrialist Peter Sarsgaard.
And just look at who else is rounding out this rogue’s gallery:
With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns – Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington), Josh Farraday (Chris Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money. (official synopsis)
Burt Macklin, you son of a bitch.
