You knew that when The Rock decided he was going to bring back Baywatch, he was going to bring top talent to play his team of sexy lifeguards. Zac Efron is his super lifeguard bro, who apparently went to great lengths to prepare for his role, but one of his lady lifeguards will be played by UPROXX favorite Alexandra Daddario. This is reuniting the pair after playing father/daughter in San Andreas.
After that role, The Rock had little excuse not to get her in on Baywatch:
I was so impressed by her chops and presence every day, that I had to have her “rep the squad” in our film. Just wait til you see her – and all our girls – kick ass and protect the bay.
Obviously she’s not alone, there the new CJ played by Kelly Rohrbach — Pamela Anderson apparently turned down a chance to cameo — and Priyanka Chopra is playing some sort of baddie. You can check both out below, including a shot of the ladies having a “planking contest.”
But it’s not all about the ladies, folks. Efron and The Rock are here to show David Hasselhoff what’s up about being a real lifeguard. I would take The Rock over David Hasselhoff any day of the week, unless The Hoff happened to get his hands on that talking car from Knight Rider. That or Hoff from Baywatch Nights. In fact, the sequel to this movie better be Baywatch Nights. The weird sci-fi version.
